Hello. My name is Charlotte, but you can call me Charlie.
I graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a double degree in law and journalism.
While I found both of my degrees to be fascinating, I decided to pursue a career in law – not because of Legally Blonde, although I was always envious of Elle’s fabulous blowouts – but because I was constantly amazed by the power that the law has on people’s lives. As cliché as this sounds, I wanted to be able to use the law to help others.
My interests lie specifically in the areas of Family Law and Estate Law because they involve people. It’s never easy trying to talk yourself up (although I’m sure many people would argue that lawyers are very good at that), but I like to say that I’m a people person.
Developing a relationship of trust, open communication and understanding with all of my clients is imperative to me. As your solicitor and advocate, I will listen to you, have a thorough understanding of your matter, apply great attention to detail and exhaust all possible legal recourses to find a resolution that is consistent with your instructions and is cost effective.
Since joining Gowland Legal I have applied my legal skills to assist clients from a number of backgrounds. I have further developed skills in negotiation, comprehensive legal research, drafting and litigation and have applied these to complex family law and estate law matters, with success.
Being a solicitor is not just a job for me, it is a passion. This will always be reflected in the work I do and the results I achieve for you.
FAVOURITE CAFFEINATED BEVERAGE
Skim Latte or a Mocha if I’m feeling particularly adventurous that day.
